vegetarian meals were cooked and eaten at home.
Our week was far too to busy to make a video, sorry, but we had a really interesting time learning about food, where it comes from, and the impact that our choices have on the environment. One thing that has stuck with all of us is that if it is good for us, it is good for the environment. In my own reading, I came across a resource by a student here at Otago Uni (Jono Drew), and found it really helpful because it relates to impact of food choices here in NZ, accounting for transport from other parts of the world etc. We emailed him with some questions and are looking forward to hearing back. The children spent much of their week drooling their way through cookbooks, seeking our vegetarian meals. We made veggie burgers with green lentils for lunch today. Lots of kids brought in things from their garden to go in them, and everyone tried something new.
